Review: Little Twin Stars Water Nail Decals

Today I would like to share with you these cute Little Twin Stars water nail decals I had received from BornPrettyStore for review purposes.

The little girl in me knew I had to grab this!  When I was younger and into Sanrio, I loved Little Twin Stars along with Pochacco and Badtz Badtz Maru.  These water decals brought me back to the days when I was living in Okinawa.

I love water decals because they are super easy to use and really helpful when you have those no inspo or motivation sort of days.

This water decal has a total of five images that are repeated three other times.  Giving you twenty images total.  And if you include the bow streamer with stars, that is two more images.  Of course you can always cut the streamer up which will give you more.

Review: Duri Cosmetics - Once Upon a Dream Collection

So today I have a wonderful new summer collection called "Once Upon a Dream" from Duri Cosmetics to show you.

Duri Cosmetics is known as a professional line that aims towards high performance for consumers at salons and specialty stores nationwide.  Their nail polish is meant to be long-lasting and chip-resistant with a smooth finish.  Their nail products are 3-Free: DBP, Toluene, and Formaldehyde.  Each bottle holds 0.5 floz./15ml.

Once Upon a Dream has six beautiful pastel colors.  From bottom to top:  Pillow Pink, Soft Slumber Blush,  Lilac Dream, Sleeping Beauty Indigo, Pie in the Sky Green, and Cloud True Blue.
The pigment-rich pastel palette isn't meant to put you to sleep, but to dream big for long-lasting summer days and temperate nights.  - Duri Cosmetics Founder Faina Ritz
The colors are supposed to remind you of "embody clear skies, pink sunsets, carnivals and carousels."  When I first saw this collection it reminded me more of spring, but as I read what Duri Cosmetics was aiming for I started thinking what does summer really mean to me.  When I look up at the clear blue skies, it isn't neon blue.  So I am so glad that Duri Cosmetics went the pastel route instead of the typical neon colors.

Review: SUPER BLACK Lacquers - Whip

I have been saving the best for last of my SUPER BLACK Lacquers' review set.  It is a wicked black holographic nail polish called Whip.

Natalie Dee did an amazing job on these nail polishes.  The size on all of the SUPER BLACK Lacquers' nail polishes is 18ml.  Not to mention they are all 4-Free which means there is no Formaldehyde, Dibutyl Phthalate, Toluene, and Formaldehyde resin.  SBL is completely formulated, mixed, and bottled all by hand.

Review: SUPER BLACK Lacquers - Hello, Officer

Today I have another gorgeous polish from SUPER BLACK Lacquers to share with you, called Hello, Officer.  I am so glad that ND added this polish into my review box, as its such a gorgeous shade of blue.  I don't think I have a blue like it at all.  Some of them are slightly closer but still either a tad darker or lighter to it.  It is wonderful to see that SBL is also putting out creme nail polishes out there to go along with their holos and glitters.

If you aren't really into glittery Indie nail polishes hopefully you're into creme Indies like this one.

Hello, Officer is a pretty blue creme, that dries in a semi-matte finish.  What I mean by semi-matte is that it has a sort of rubbery glossy sort of finish.  Still pretty nonetheless.

The brushes with SUPER BLACK Lacquers' bottles aren't wide so ever.  So if you're into doing nail art with just the brushes from the bottles you'll love the ones that are inside SBL.

Hello, Officer's formula was thinner than I expected it to be, but I notice I always encounter that with finishes that are like that: rubbery gloss finish.  It glided on real smoothly.  It took about two coats to obtain opacity with this polish.

You could either wear it with the rubbery gloss sort of finish or place a top coat over it.  OR you could create a nail art using a top coat to make the design.

SBL sells their polishes for $12 a piece which is actually a wonderful deal considering each bottle is 18ml.  Hello, Officer is categorized in the "Solid" section.

To follow what is going on with SUPER BLACK Lacquer you could check them out on:
So make sure to check out SUPER BLACK Lacquers when you get a chance!  You might find something that could be a great addition to your stash!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Seven Deadly Sins Week 1: Lust

Recently my friend Alice from One Nail to Rule Them All, invited me to join the Seven Deadly Sins Challenge with several other nail gals.  This challenge had a choice of doing it daily, two a week, or once a week.  I decided to do once a week.  For this week the sin was lust, where we had to pick something that we always have wanted to do.

I don't think it was something I have always wanted to do but it was something I have been wanting to do for a while.  It was water spotted nails with turquoise stone nails.  I have wanted to do them ever since I saw Lex from Attacked Astoria Nails do them.

Ugh let me tell you, I would rather do a water marble nail look than water spotted nail.  It has been just crazy how much polish I wasted trying to get it right.  Oh but it won't stop me from trying it again.  Like they say "Practice makes perfect."   The ring finger color blocking look was inspired by my friend Sarah from Chalkboard Nails.

Review: Hard Candy Bow Ties Optional

If you are following me on Instagram, or my Facebook Fan Page you have seen these swatches already.  I am finally taking the time to post the swatches up of Hard Candy's Bow Ties Optional new glitter that recently hit Walmart.  I haven't gone to Walmart lately, and haven't paid attention to the news from Hard Candy.  However, as soon as I saw the new polishes from Hard Candy I went "Oh what is that?!"

A little Spacey with a shine of Glisten

Today's nails are my birthday nails!  YES it's my birthday!  I didn't do a lot honestly to them, so I just did a quick nail look.  Some of you caught a glimpse of it if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter.

I went super simple for my birthday looks since they were freshly cut.  Excuse the uneven nails I blame cracks and breaks on it :( It happens but they are starting to grow so yay!

**This product was received for review purposes.  In no way am I obligated to give a 100% positive feedback.  This is based upon my own experience.

I was instantly drawn into how brightly colored these Peony flowers were.  The decals actually reminded me of this blanket sheet my mom use to have.

Review: BornPrettyStore 12 Colors 3D Steel Ball Caviar Manicure Glitter Nail Art Decoration

Today I have a review to share with you, a product from BornPrettyStore, a 12 Colors 3D Steel Ball Caviar Manicure Glitter Nail Art Decoration.  If you have not heard of BPS yet, you are really missing out.  They offer items from nail art to make-up to even items for your bicycle.  Did I mention it's all free shipping worldwide?  Their prices are cheap even!  So make sure to check them out, if you have not done so already.

How colorful does that look all sitting there together?  You get twelve different colors that are inside these little jars for just $5.41!  Such a great deal really instead of buying one huge jar at a craft store of just one color.

The colors you get are random though.  So don't expect to get the same exact colors as I did or that they have pictured on their sites.  I really didn't mind that issue at all since they're all still very colorful and easy to use.

Nails: Gradient Spun Sugar

Today's nails were inspired by friend Sarah, also known as Chalkboard Nails.  She had done a nail design based off of a dress by Betsey Johnson during NYFW.  You could read more about it at her blog.  She had a nice framed sponged base, and did  the spun sugar technique over it.  I have seen the technique before, but never attempted it; always wanted to try it out.  Sarah's post of it was the push I needed!

As I was doing the spun sugar on my nails I quickly realized I wanted cotton candy!  Not just any cotton candy, the ones you get at fairs, amusement parks, etc.  It brought me back to when I was little waiting in line as the person was twirling the stick thingy in the machine to swoop up the cotton candy.  And you would see the sugar strings stick against the glass/plastic shield.

The spun sugar technique isn't as difficult as it seems at all, and I found it pretty fun to do.  May be a bit time consuming, but well worth it in the end.

Review: Stamp Plate [SPPMB29] from KKCenterHk - N.Nail

Today I am introducing to you a stamp plate that I got from KKCenterHk: Stamping Image Stamp Template SPPMB29.
It has a wonderful design of flowers on it, but also a pair of bows and a sparkling glass of wine. As soon as I saw the image I knew I wanted it cause I always get pulled into a nice look floral design.  In order to use this, you must have a stamper and a scraper.  It doesn't necessarily have to be from the same brand in order to use the plate, but you must have those items in order to use any stamp plate for that matter.

Nails done: Lei you down!

So this week I bring to you another Hawaiian based theme.  My focus was the lovely hibiscus and plumeria found around that beautiful tropical island.  It helped give me the time to practice up on my floral more.  I still have a hard time doing them but I would like to believe that I am getting better at it.  I never really liked doing flowers for some reason.  I think it has to do with my non-girly side really.

When things don't go as planned but still come out AWESOME!

Originally I wanted to do a look of a bunch of neons on one nail, but then I realized I had executed it wrong.  So basically said "Bump it," and continued going on in a different direction.  I still love how this neon gradient splatter came out.  I always loved a neon base with black nail polish splatter over it.  Just gives that OH feeling!
Before I go on about this, here is a tutorial of how to do them.
They came out wonderful, despite things not going as planned.  But that happens and you just got to make the best of it.

Nails! Waking up to the sunrise!

So last week I was inspired to do sunrise nails.  I have done them before but I always mixed it up with different looks for each nail.  This time I decided I wanted to keep it all the same just to try something different.  Sadly I didn't keep these on that long.  Life of a nail lover!
I always loved sunrises and sunsets, because they never get old to gaze out.  Just for that little moment I feel relaxed.

Nail Polish: Sinful Colors Leap Flog

I finally gave in and decided to grab this shade from Sinful Colors.  I honestly thought the name was Leap Frog, and not Flog.  At that moment, I couldn't remember exactly the meaning of flog.
Flog Definition:
  1. Beat (someone) with a whip or stick to punish or torture them: "the stolen horses will be returned and the thieves flogged".
  2. Promote or talk about (something) repetitively or at excessive length.
**Defintion VIA Dictionary.com
Pretty interesting for a name.
The shade is more of a dusty forest green sort of shade to me.  This nail polish is crazy lol.  There are times where it looks more darker and yet paler in forest green.
My only issue with it is, it seems sort of patchy to me after 2 coats.  There were parts on my nail where I could still see through it.  So 3 coats would be perfect for it.
Drying time is so and so.  It does not dry quickly.  But overall I am happy with this nail polish and glad that I grabbed it.

Don't forget that this week until Saturday (July 28th), Walgreens will be having a sale on Sinful Colors for 99cents.  So if you love cheapo polishes it's a good grab for your collection.  They have a wide range of colors.

What is your favorite nail polish from Sinful Colors?

Nails done? OH YEAH! Check!

It really is gradient mania going on these past few days.  Normally when I do gradients I do the sponging technique.  Where I would take pieces of a cosmetic sponge, and dip it into some nail polish, and then on to my nail bed.

Lately I have been trying out other gradient techniques, that I have discovered, and by far I am loving my fellow nail art lover Sammy's (The Nailasaurus) technique.  It's simple to do, and it just makes it look perfect!  So make sure to check out her nail work as well!  She does a brilliant job when it comes to nail polish.

So on to my nails!
"THE CLAWWWW!"  *imitates the voice of the toy aliens from Toy Story* Seriously every time I hear someone complain about how someone takes a picture of their nails doing the claw, that pops in my head.  I think the claw is one of the best ways to show off all your fingers, and thumb :)
Nail Polish Used:
  • ORLY Bonder for base coat
  • Rimmel London English Rose
  • Rimmel London Hard Metal
  • China Glaze Fast Forward for top coat

How do you do your gradients?

A Taste of Blood

I am currently deciding what nail look to do for a scene on a shoot that I will be working on.

Thank you to my hubs for being my hand model (pictures above).

This one I wanted it simple and just get them dirty for the scene.

Now I am thinking of doing a mixture of both but try to cut the blood down a bit.
So basically all that was used:
  • Nail Polish (blood red, brown, black, and a yellow)
  • Black Eyeliner
  • Sugarpill Sweetheart & Broken Heart palette, Bulletproof
  • Coastal Scents Go Palette Cairo
Have to keep sketching and thinking of what I will be doing for it really.
